Brassica Seed (Dwarf Essex var); 7lbs 9oz

$20.84

New Englanders have utilized the versatile Brassicaceae family for centuries.  It should come as no surprise then to find this family highly recommended for whitetail and wildlife gardens.  This brassica/rape sweetens in the fall when hit by frost, making it is very attractive to deer.  It is often used by photographers, hunters or other wildlife lovers in general that want to either attract deer or wildlife, or give something back to their wildlife.

Though small turnips often develop on the plants produced by this brassica/rape seed (Dwarf Essex variety), it is most prized for its lush and tasty "leaves".  It is very versatile and works especially well on a site that is being planted for the first time.  It can also be "turned back under" - tilled into the soil - to provide valuable organic matter for a future planting.  Though classified as an annual, these brassica plants do show signs of regrowth for up to two years.  This seed can be planted nearly any time during the growing season and will mature in as early as 40 days.
